Before we begin, let us get to know the insight of Ubuntu and windows

What is ubuntu?

Ubuntu is Linux Operating System based on Debian. Ubuntu mainly Consists of free and open-source software. Ubuntu was developed by Canonical Company whose founder and CEO is Mark Shuttleworth. The OS is popularly used in desktops, mobile, consoles, eBook readers, and much more.

What is Windows?

The Window is a widely used Operating system that was first released in 1985 by Microsoft. Most of the commonly used OS is windows, but when I install Ubuntu, I feel as if the laptop has gained its life (my laptop is quite old, so it took time to load the boot screen). Since I am a Computer Science student, I spent a lot of time on the Ubuntu Operating System. Below mention factors are the main reason why I like ubuntu:

  1. Best OS for programming:

Ubuntu is fast for programming. I usually enjoy running code on the terminal. Even I used to enjoy uploading files in GitHub by running the commands. In windows also you can do programming, but I usually prefer Ubuntu over windows.

2. System Updates:

In the Linux OS, the user has full control over when and what to install updates. Moreover, without the reboot, the update process is even quicker.

Microsoft Windows, however, is infamous for its random updates which pop up at inconvenient times.

3. Less prone to the virus attack:

Windows is more prone to virus attacks than Ubuntu, making windows quite slow and less secured than Ubuntu. While on the other hand, Ubuntu is less prone to virus attacks.

4. Big Companies uses Linux :

Big companies like Oracle, IBM, Google, RedHat, Amazon, Dell, NASA, and so many other big companies use Linux over Windows. This is because Linux provides a faster and cleaner experience which is good for development purposes. Also, Linux is more secure and reliable as compared to Windows

5. Crashing :

Some people say that Ubuntu crashes more than windows but I experienced the opposite of what people said. In my case, Windows used to crash more frequently than Ubuntu. Windows got crashed in a situation when I am executing a long unsaved code. But I never experience such situations in Ubuntu, until I run the android studio in ubuntu.

But some factors favor windows :

  1. I felt that editing a file in windows is much easier than doing editing on Ubuntu(it depends on person to person )
  2. Gaming: Windows is far better than Linux in the field of gaming.

So that's it. This blog is all about the two largely used operating Systems Ubuntu (Derivative of Debian) and Windows. Some Factors favor Ubuntu while some favor Windows. So according to me, it's better to dual boot the operating system which I did. Use windows for storing large files, videos, and for gaming. and use Ubuntu for Programming(Ya! you can keep the necessary files, videos in Ubuntu Operating System). I don't feel any big disadvantage of dual booting the laptop. But some people also say that it makes the laptop quite slow. But for me, Ubuntu gives the feel of a programmer. I love Ubuntu and I don’t care what other people think about ubuntu.
